Wikio Top Religious Blogs, January 2010 (i.e. December 2009)

The latest Wikio blog lists are out, here are the blogs in the top 250 which deal wholly or partially with religious issues, or from a faith viewpoint. I expect most of these to go up next month, as there's been an invasion of card-making and craft blogs over the Christmas period. Everything here must be taken with a pinch of salt - the top 2 are Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes, in that order, despite the fact that the latter had 1,800,000 visitors per month in 2009, nearly twice Iain Dale's total for the year.

27 Archbishop Cranmer
64 Heresy Corner
113 This one.
131 The hermeneutic of continuity
134 What does the prayer really say? which just goes to show: last time I looked on Technorati they were very highly rated there. Somewhere out there is a blog ranking list where your blog is top, you just have to look hard enough.
159 The Ugley Vicar
165 Bartholemews Notes on Religion
168 Islam in Europe
170 Gates of Vienna: proof that rabies hasn't been eliminated from Europe.
178 Thinking Anglicans, possibly the only place on the planet with the concentration skills to follow the Anglican Covenant process. I must confess I gave up years ago, and imagine there's only about 6 people in the world who really have a grasp on what's going on.
199 Madpriest. At last the voice of reason joins the top 200.
215 Anglican Mainstream. Not a blog. Cut and Paste job from other sites, or 'aggregator' as they're also known.
222 Clayboy
226 John Smeaton, SPUC Director
236 Church Mouse

Random recommendation: 3 Quarks Daily, poetry, science, psychology, film reviews, Leonard Cohen, a history of Islam, something for pretty much everybody. Fascinating.

This seems to be more than usual, and quite a diverse bunch. It's also only based on a sample - if you're not registered with Wikio blogs, then you don't get on.

  1. And even if you try and get registered, you can't _get_ on!
