Disagreeing with God

I'm preparing a sermon on conflict and opposition, and someone sent me this, which I think nails it:

whenever we criticise someone, hate someone, demean someone etc, we disagree with God about that person. God says that they are beautiful, amazing, worth dying for and remind Him of Himself. When we pull down, attack, dehumanise, criticise, and fail to love them, we put ourselves in a position where we disagree with God. That is not a good place to be.

  2. Last Easter I was praying and had this same revelation too, except that in my case the one I was criticising, hating and demeaning was myself. And God said to me, "When you hate yourself, you make me a liar, because I created you and I adore you, so how can you say these things about yourself as if it might please me that you see yourself as so wretched?" From that day on I do not allow my thoughts to seek out darkness within; I turn instead to look at God's joy and pleasure in me. This is the most important thing I have ever learned.
